Frequently asked questions

Is a face-mask mandatory for the excursion?

You will have to bring a face-mask with you for your excursion. Because of the boat's configuration, it is not possible to maintain a 2 meter distanciation between passengers at all times. You may not have to wear it all the time if distanciation measures are respected.

Is it recommended to purchase tickets in advance?

Because of the sanitary measures regarding COVID-19, it is required that you purchase your tickets in advance, either online or by calling 1-800-363-7248 (toll free) or 418-543-7630.

How do I make a reservation?

Full payment is required to make reservations. You can buy your tickets via our web site, or by calling 418-543-7630 or 1-800-363-7248 (toll free). A credit card is required to complete the reservation.

What methods of payment are accepted at the ticket booth?

Since we only accept online or phone reservations because of our sanitary measures, we can only accept credit cards.

Where do I pick-up my tickets?

Your tickets will be available at the ticket booth next to the boarding pier, in the cruise ship pavilion in La Baie. Tickets are never sent by mail. If you purchased your tickets with one of our partners (hotel or other accommodations), bring your purchase order to the ticket booth and we’ll provide your tickets in exchange.

Are picnics allowed onboard?

Yes, you can bring your picnic on board. Snacks and beverages (bottled water, juices, coffee, etc.) are also available for purchase on board. Alcoholic beverages are prohibited to bring on board since we sell alcoholic beverages on the boat(wine, beer). There are no meal services on board. You will either have to bring your own lunch or purchase a lunch box beforehand. Please note that lunchbox purchasing is only available until 48h before departure.

Is the excursion on La Marjolaine recommended for families with young children?

The boat is very safe to bring young children. However, because of COVID-19 sanitary precautions, children will not be able to move about as freely on board as before because they will be in proximity to other passengers and will have to respect distanciation measures. The excursion lenght is 6h30 without any stopovers,  and may be considered long for some children who may become restless. Also please remember that while there is interpretation by a guide during the excursion, the scenery in the fjord is very contemplative. It is a good idea to bring games and activities on board to entertain the children (books, coloring books, dolls, legos, puzzles, tablets, etc).  Usually we do have some toys are available in the kids area, but they will not be available in 2020 because of our sanitary measures. There is also a small television in the kid's area where Disney movies are played during the excursion.

What are the Navettes Maritimes du Fjord’s dates of operation?
We usually operate on the fjord from early June to early October. Please note that the precise dates when the season starts and ends vary from year to year.  For 2020, we will operate from July 11th to September 7th, from Wednesdays to Sundays (5 days per week).

Can I bring my pet on board?

Unfortunately, marine laws prohibits pets on board, even if the animal is small and/or kept in a cage.

Are there washrooms on board?

 What if it rains?

Our boat has two covered decks to keep you protected from the elements and allow you to witness the rain’s mysterious effect on the fjord.

Are departures offered daily?

No. In 2020, we offer departures 5 days a week (Wednesday to Sunday). However, Les Navettes Maritimes du Fjord may decide to cancel certain departures due to bad weather (high winds and storms) for security reasons. Please note that this is extremely rare, departures are still offered even during heavy rain.

Does the excursion offer interpretion?
