All our boats are inspected annually by Transport Canada to receive permission to sail.
All our crew members have the necessary certificates required by Transport Canada to operate passenger vessels in Canada.
We have navigation permits from the Commission des transports du Québec and from the Saguenay-St. Lawrence Marine Park.
Emergency drills are conducted regularly on our boats, as required by Transport Canada.
Only service dogs are allowed on board.
For purchases made online and by phone, only credit cards are accepted. Cash is accepted if you go to one of our ticket offices (on-site reservation).
Smoking is not allowed on board.
We ask that the person be able to take a few steps on their own or receive assistance from the person(s) accompanying them, who can either help them walk or carry them.
Electric wheelchairs similar to four-wheel mobility scooters are not allowed on board.
Transport Canada allows us to accept only a limited number of passengers with reduced mobility at a time on our boats for safety reasons.
Access to boats and boarding:
There is a small step between the dock and the boarding ramp and between the boarding ramp and the boat.
At low tide, the boarding ramp may be positioned at a steep incline, which would make it more difficult to maneuver with a wheelchair.
On-board safety measures stipulate that the person must be autonomous in the event of an emergency, which means that they, or the people accompanying them, must ensure their safety. Maritime legislation requires that on-board staff not be mobilized for one person; they have to be able to take care of the entire group in order to ensure the safety of all passengers in the event of an evacuation or emergency maneuvers.
Washroom and mobility on our boats: find the information for each boat here.
For the upcoming season, our three boats will have varied schedules, allowing us to offer departures each day. However, note that Fjord Marine Shuttles reserves the right to cancel a boat trip if weather conditions are not safe for sailing. We cancel only in the event of severe weather; rain does not prevent us from sailing on the fjord.
